Good buy or not? - 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan

I have the opportunity this weekend to buy a 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan. It is graded BGS 8. It has a centering subgrade of 9.5. I am not sure what the rest of the subgrades are. I can buy if for $625. That seems within range for Ebay purchases, but none of those 8's on Ebay had a centering of 9.5. Will the 9.5 centering make the BGS bring more the the average BGS 8? Good buy or not?

  • Better you check the subgrades to see what brings that 9.5 centering to an overall 8. At least you will look at the card live before you can decide.
  • I wouldnt do it. I just bought a dead centered, 50/50 PSA 9 for $1250 and a high end PSA 8 should be closer to $500. With a 9.5 on centering, the corners or edges are probably 7.5s.
  • Any more Jordan 9 's for $1250 out there. I remember when this card was pushing 4k

Out of site, out of mind. There will be a slight rise when he is inducted. Also, others will come around and realize that there will never be another player like him.

A BGS 8 is pretty solid for the Jordan. At least you know it's real. I would say that's within the "ok" buy range. That is you aren't going to get ripped off paying that much, but it's probably not the lowest price out there either. Maybe you can wheel and deal down to $575.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

Buy the series checklist instead for $2,500!

Any more? I think you can buy all the PSA 9's you want for around a grand each. They seem to be a dime a dozen on Ebay.
