Afraid of PSA/DNA?

Has anyone ever sent anything to PSA/DNA that you knew was authentic, but had it come back as non-authentic?

I have a Griffey Jr card that I watched him sign for me at a show back in 1990, but the sig doesn’t look like any Griffey sig I can find by looking on Ebay right now.

I haven't submitted anything to PSA/DNA, though I do have a Hank Aaron auto I want to submit...

As for your Griffey auto, I have a card he signed for me in the early 90's and it looks a bit different than his auto does now. If it's legit, I'm sure they'll be able to tell. They have numerous samples from different periods where the signature is a known-good sample. I'm sure it'll be fine.

I think you are okay. they just authenticated a rookie signature of ripken for me. he's changed his auto a few times since he signed this for me in 82'

They're the best in the business.. They know these things and will be able to tell. Send it away.. $20 to get authenticated/slabbed.

  • You will not be sorry you sent it in.

I have seen hundreds of different autos by single players
and they are usually ONLY constant in style during certain
periods of their lives. The signing styles change and PSA/DNA
has got files of exemplars that would blow your mind.

If I can ever figure out how to shrink/post jpg files (100K+/-) on these boards,
I can show you some recent PSA/DNA slabs of single players
that DO NOT look alike, yet ALL are authentic.

If you keep looking on ebay, you should find some slabbed examples of different
styles that will ease your mind.

By the way, the $20.00 price is reasonable, but I suspect a lot of folks are
    waiting for a "special."

    Cher:

The easiest way I know to resize a picture is to right-click it and choose Send To | Mail Recipient. This shrinks the picture down and puts it in an e-mail as an attachment.. Double click on the picture within the e-mail and save it some where and post it on here..

OR.. if you want more control of how small you would like the image..

Another solution that won't cost you any money is to download Google's free Picasa 2 image manager ( http://www.picasa.com/ ) Picasa lets you select all the files you want to resize and then shrink them by selecting File | Export Pictures to Folder. Make sure Resize to is selected and use the slider or enter the maximum number of pixels that you want in the largest dimension.

You can also download one of microsofts "Power tols". Go to microsoft.com and type in "Power Tools" there is a handy picture resizer in there too. Once it's installed, just right click and a new option pops up that says "Resize Picture". Pick the resolution (size) and voila...you're done.

    HTH.

  • Thank you knuckles and envoy.
I will give all those options a try.

  • Sorry to semi-hijack the thread if that's what I'm doing, but how much does it cost to authenticate a ball? I have a Barry Bonds signed baseball with the authentication sticker that is on all of his more newly-signed stuff, but no COA. BTW I got it from Dave & Buster's and asked them if they had the COA after I searched the box that has the ball in it but failed to find anything else, and they couldn't find any. Would it be a better idea in terms of value to go to Steiner (since I think that's who does the Barry Bonds authentication stuff now)?

  • There is a price list/menu on the PSA/DNA link.
The prices depend on who the signer is,

Speaking of "hijacking," the following post is a
random picasa test. Sorry to intrude.
    Thanks.
