It really looks superb. Do you think you can find an example as good as this one? I think the lettering adds character.

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5
"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22
The surfaces are nice but I'd rather find a better example.
Are you serious? The colour is exquisite, there's not a single trace of wear, the double striking doesn't bother me at all, I think it's superb! Of course I haven't seen it in hand, but it sure looks nice from here!
I got a chance to see much of Norwegian Scandinavia during the winter of 1986-87. Five and 1/2 friggin months. I was on an ADVON team and we had a lot of free time... We were there for the preparation of the joint military exercise (Anchor Express) in Bodo, Norway.

Lots of ship burials in that area too, were there not? I have always been interested in Northern Europe in ethe 7th-9th Centuries, lots of neat stuff going on in that era. Beowulf for example is a great poem.

Smoking crack???????????? Crazy????????????? Out of my mind??????????
Many coins I purchased in the past I settled on. Not sure if I liked it or not and by the time I decided it was too late to return it. As such from now on my first impressions will be the deciding factor. Yes the token and design are gorgeous, however, the lettering on the obverse really bothers me.
Plus I have decided that only the best tokens I can find will go into my Conder collection. I am just not going to settle this time around.
Here is a larger image that shows the lettering better.

(Sorry, OT) We were at the airport there and saw a group of Lapps in all their regalia, what a sight. We stayed at the SAS Hotel in Bodo and here are a couple of pics. If I recall correctly it was -45 degrees out then, brrrrrrrr. On the coin side of things I still have a lot of the Norwegian Krone.

To me, this token is one of my favorites of your collection, Cosmic. It is unbelievably attractive to me. The color, while magnificently bold and beautiful, isn't the only turn-on of this coin. I like the soft obverse design and the complex but balanced reverse. And the surfaces!! WoW!!! How amazingly perfect they are!!! It's hard to imagine any coin with surfaces that perfect, much less one 215 years old. What a miracle it has survived this long. I even like the technical crudness of the mintage process. The out-of-round planchet is less imperfect than quaint. The reeding harks of an older time and more primative technology; even Conders were produced with Boulton's new steam presses, and show it. But this token proudly displays its older heritage, without shame. I understand that it has been struck multiple times, and you can see the evidence of that clearly. However, in my opinion, the end result not only adds to the overall beauty of the design, with a stronger strike and bolder features, but the overstrike itself isn't very bad and certainly not distracting to me. I've seen much worse cases, where it was hard to distinguish the features of the coin due to the multiple strikes. This token betrays its overstike clearly, but to me it doesn't detract from the beauty or heritage of the piece. To me, this Conder would be a no-questions keeper.

The surfaces are nice but I'd rather find a better example.

Twas not meant to be as I have returned her to the seller. I could not get past what the double strike did to the lettering.
