Is it easy to bid in this auction? What are the fees?

With the US dollar down, the European bidders will be having a field day.

You mean Wybrit, Clownie!! I'm broke.

So am I. The now famous driveway saw to it that I will not participate in this auction. It's too bad, because I'd sure like a crack at some of the 1839 proof pieces.

I just looked at some of the jester links. I would have to disagree that the 1838 halfpenny is "elusive" in top grade. It was one of the first dates I found in the series and is one of the few I have that is full red.

To answer ajaan's question, the fees are 15% buyer's premium plus shipping. If you use ebay, you take a 20% buyer's premium hit instead.

The russian material is beautiful, but I was surprised to see the quantity of cleaned coins. Regardless, I imagine the roubles, in particular the commemoratives, will bring some hefty prices. I can only drool on my keyboard for now.

On that note, does anybody else think the prices on the Russian coins are out of whack? The price of some coins I could buy at tables in the mid to late 90s have increased 300-500% these days. Grumble grumble grumble...

That could be said about much of the Darkside these days. image
