I just joined PSA about a month ago and have recently read some of the posts here. This is quite an impressive community here.
A few years ago, I thought I'd test the waters in grading some of my raw vintage cards by sending a batch to SGC. I was mildly disappointed by a couple of their extra tough grades, but overall they did pretty well I'd say. Then, about a year after that, I sent another batch of vintage cards to BVG (everyone is entitled to a brain cramp now & then, aren't they? ).
All I will say is that I will not be sending BVG any more of my vintage cards (I hear they are good with modern).
I just received my first submission from PSA on mostly 1961 commons. I am pretty happy with the results. I tried to only send 8+ pregrades so I'm a little peeved about some of the 7s (and one 6
), but the 9s more than made up for it (I did not expect that many mint grades 
). In addition, the service I received was fast and efficient, far exceeding my expectations. Needless to say, I believe I'll stick with PSA for my future grading needs. Here are the submission results:

Just curious, I noticed you said you only tried to send in "9 pregrades" I'm curious if the 9 was the grade you thought it would get, or if they were pregraded by GAI for example, or in holders previously.

I probably should have worded it better. When I said "8+" I meant I tried to only send cards that would grade 8 or higher based on my own pregrade.

I thought SGC was accurate on 90% of the grades. The other 10% I felt were a bit harsh. One example: I thought this 63 Brock would have a good chance at a 92 (perfect reg, unbelievable color/print quality, 2 mint corners, 2 nmmt, perfect bright centered reverse). It appeared they really focused on that bottom left corner and forgot how nice the card was overall:
Regarding BVG, I'll just leave it like this: I won't be sending them any more vintage cards.
