GB 1926 1d full red

I rarely have seen this date in full red and some may say in full red it may not be all that tough. Any thoughts?

I assume you mean the first obverse. Full red is not impossible, but it is difficult.

The second obverse, the so-called "modified effigy," on the other hand, is as desireable as an UNC 1869. BU full red is very rare.

Should I break up one of the rolls I have and sell them as singles?image

    Wybrit:

I appreciate your comments and I should have been more specific... it would not the modified effigy. I read that true red examples are tough and the 1926 examples (again not the modified effigy) seem to have a darker appearance...

Were there any differences in alloy that year?

good question and I should check Coincraft and Spink. While that may be possible, I don't think it is.

I know it's not the mentioned date, but just for a visual reference.

There was no change in alloy, only in the dies. Here's the best 1926 (not ME) one I've ever been able to find (and buy).
