The Mint museums (plural, as in 2 different Museums) do still have some Numismatic exhibits at the Art Museum, but not at the Craft Museum. Here's a link to a page at their website describing the Numismatic exhibits Mint Museum Coin Exhibits . Hedger is right about Independence Coin and Stamp, it is a pretty nice place.

Last time I was thier they still had the charlotte gold coins on display in a capital style type plexiglass holder. It is an art museum, but still has the coin exhibited. Thier are also two shops one on Independence as mentioned the other American rare coins which I beleive is by Appointment, as Scott S attends a lot of shows.
