Another eBay scam email.

Usually I just always delete my eBay mail saying my account is going to be suspended or something looks
funny and you need to log in to make sure it's really you. Everyone knows those are just scam emails. Today
I got a new one, it was an unpaid reminder. I do think I had one come a long time ago but the link to the
auction was no good. This time the link to the auction is good. Comes up with the same description as the
email. First I think eBay must be messed up. Sending out the wrong emails to people. But I still don't trust
this email. So I go check out the header, and the first thing I see wrong is a line in there that says AOL 7.0
for Windows. That sure doesn't look right. I use a web based email, so as not to download it to my computer.
There are 3 images that are blocked by my ISP. My ISP won't let images be viewed on screen when reading
emails. Just another protection of a virus that might come thru. First image I check is ok, it's a link to eBay
which is good. But then the next image is the link to the spam site.

But it doesn't work anymore. Guess that site had been taken down. But I just found it funny that a spam
email actually gave a link to a good auction. That's a new one on me.

Is fraud getting that sophisticated? the email seemed to come from his address and had his name at the bottom.

<< <i>that's a trip - I recently won an item on ebay, paid with paypal, got an email this morning to my email address from the seller, returning his notification of a paypal payment. In his message, he tells me he's having problems and wants me to cancel my payment. This message did not show up in my ebay - I answered him that we should talk on the phone, but I wonder if I screwed up by answering that email? When I got to my office, I went into the item and sent the seller a message through ebay asking him if he had sent that email.

Even if you answer his email and provide no info - what does he get? Your email address...and if you don't press the button for ID, he's not even going to have your real name? Am I correct or have I missed something?
