Discovery Piece

Currently, I am in the process of getting a new VAM discovery specimen verified by Leroy Van Allen. For the present it resides in a PCGS "old rattler" holder with an MS-63 grade. ANACS will certify this coin as a "discovery piece" when presented with the proper documentation? Clearly this is not a TOP 100 or HOT 50 variety. Is PCGS willing to do the same or must I loose an important part of this coin's history by having it slabbed by ANACS?

There are a lot of new VAM varieties being "discovered" but frankly, many are pretty minor to our eyes. If your coin was a spectacular new variety we would consider labeling it the "Discovery" coin. You can check with Mike Farone at PCGS for a clarification.

    Thanks,
