When I finally achieve my registry set goal . . .

I would like my entire Proof Lincoln Set entombed in one large PCGS holder. Then I will declare it finished!!!

And I would pay $1,000 for it.

There is a special casket, made just for reg. set people and their coins.

Haven't you guys seen those 70 coin holders made by Capital Plastics?

That would be an awesome PCGS set for a finished collection. And it is the way top sets should be kept. Note I said "finished." I'm not ready for the holder yet, I just want PCGS to start figuring out how they are going to build the case for me.

    Doug,
How can we say "finished" while the series goes on?.

By the way Set Registry Lincoln cent participants. If you did not already know, the 1909-2005 sets for business strike and proof are now listed for input. They are NOT yet weighted. According to BJ, David is reviewing the weightings now. When the weightings are entered the GPA's will automatically change. No reentry needed.

Steve - Does David Hall need help figuring out the weightings of 2005 Lincoln cents ??????

Doug - Does this mean your getting ready to sell ? I guarantee your set would bring less in auction if it was sold as one lot.

When I finally achieve my registry set goal.I have never thought of having a goal.I only think of having FUN,competing, clandestinely buying special coins, possibly having a "Showdown" and 2009

Not for sale, and no it wouldn't be a good idea to sell them in one lot like that. But . . . as a collector . . . it would be cool to whip out one of those holders and look at say my 09-58 set all together nice and close!

I'm kind of in a lull because I really don't need to spend 20K+ for the upgrades I would need right now. So, I'm biding my time and looking for ways to upgrade within the grade, and just simply enjoying what I have. I've been putting together doubled die varieties for the Proofs in the 50's, and recently and the one known doubled die in the 36-42 series.

I got a message from BJ on the weighting:

All sets in the Registry that are not weighted will eventually be weighted, but unfortunately, I cannot give you an eta. I’m dependent on my two experts who have their hands full right now! Thanks in advance for your patience.

    I'll be patient.

There will have to be a Lincoln showdown in 2009!!!! Both MS and Proof!!!!

I doubt it. I think he will give it a big fat "1".
