2005-08-12 -- Terrell Owens would like to publicly thank his fans
Friday, Aug 12th 2005

Terrell Owens would like to publicly thank his fans for their continued, and unwavering support.

Despite all the negative publicity, the fans have remained objective, and optimistic. This positive reinforcement has inspired Terrell to work as hard as he can to improve on last years standout season. He plans to catch more balls than he ever has, and believes his on-the-field heroics will far outweigh any off-field criticism thrown his way. Through his actions, Terrell has continued to defy the negative speculation that has surrounded him, and he has proven himself to be a professional.

Despite all the rumors and innuendo Terrell has shown up to work on time, and from the moment he arrived he has given his all, picking up right where he left off in the Super Bowl. Unfortunately for Terrell, this gung-ho approach led to the aggravation of a nagging groin injury. Realizing that this could have been perceived as a negotiating ploy, Terrell has done everything possible to accelerate his rehab.

Regrettably, recent events have unfolded in a way that may paint a negative picture of Terrell. This situation has mushroomed far beyond what should be considered adequate coverage, and Terrell has become the media’s favorite whipping boy. While this is discouraging, Terrell knows this is part of the business. To the fans he simply says that this was an isolated incident that was not premeditated. Terrell in no way wishes to be a disruption to the ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl. In fact Terrell has gone out of his way to diffuse the tension by keeping to himself in all non-practice related affairs. During practice and work related situations he has been and will be attentive and responsive; Terrell only asks what every other worker in America asks for, respect and dignity.

Terrell will return to camp and continue to display the work ethic, and on-the-field dedication that has made him one of the world’s most elite athletes. For you the fan, and your continued support in the most difficult of times, Terrell plans to reward you with a season for the ages. Where small men succumb, great men overcome!

Last but not least Terrell would like to extend his appreciation for the continued support from all the members on Terrrellowens.com Message Board.

Thats pretty hilarious . As was reported on ESPN when one of the offensive coaches walked over to Owens and tried to talk to him about a certain play Terrell told him something to the effect of " don't speak to me unless i speak to you first " . He also ignored all of his teamates before getting kicked out of camp.

It's ashame that for the most part your guys dreams of a S.B win rests in the hands of that clown.

With almost any, if not every other player, I would take him at his word. With Owens, I'll believe it only when I see it.

As a Bucs fan, I've seen first hand what a distraction this type of thing can be. Keenan McCardell was no where near the talent TO is, but it's still a huge distraction as the team has to deal with it over and over.

You can bet that it will be a similar situation in Philly. The players and coaches may say it doesn't affect them, but it has to...and the media asking the same questions day after day is going to grate on them as well.

Throw in Pinkston gone for the year, and a couple other hold outs, and you have the possibility of Philly really struggling this year (no matter what the fans want to say).

TO will be fine .... or he will be fined.

Throw in Pinkston gone for the year, and a couple other hold outs, and you have the possibility of Philly really struggling this year (no matter what the fans want to say).

For the past 4 years the Eagles have had to overcome some type of obstacle, and every year they overcame the obstacle and made it to the championship. The Eagles have had to overcome more than any team in recent memory - and there is no reason to think that they won't again ... if losing Pinkston is really all that bad.

Ax..Keenan was the better player in the playoffs when we killed TO and San Fran. Actually if I remember right, Keenan has one
more ring than does TO and has had many more big games when it counts as TO has ever had.

As far as TO is concerned, I didn't think this moran could get any lower.

"Terrell only asks what every other worker in America asks for, respect and dignity."

Ahh excuse me TO but how about you NEVER compare what some people do for a living to what you call a living. There are firemen
pulling people out of burning houses and doctors repairing hearts, and nurses working 18 hours shifts to comfort a dying boy....there
are teachers out there risking their lives in bad schools trying to educate todays youth..those are the real hereos..not you my friend.
I could care less what you think and what you need. To come on here and make yourself sound like God is disgusting to me. Why
mention super bowl when all TO is about is TO.

How about really rewarding us and going away. We all know that you fade in the big game, you have repeatedly.

You are, and always will be a loser TO

the thing that baffles me about TO is he had an opportunity to FINALLY get a "shoe deal" ... or some other gig. He had it all ready and then blammo - the idiot in him surfaces.

    I have a strange confidence however ... I predict a TO apology.

What will be funny to see how quickly everyone rallies to his side again when he starts putting up numbers.

So easy to sway the public.

Well, Sir Terrell was back at camp today without incident. I listened to Eagles.com which had the live after practice press conference with Andy Reid, then Dawkins, then McNabb. Nothing new.

Great point. I never even thought about that. I haven't heard hardly anything about how Randy Moss is fitting in.
