He might have well have added "the previously unknown Seaver WHITE LETTER variation".

    Agreed, what a moron.

I always love the auctions that start at $25.00, thus costing 60 cents more to list than the ones that start at $24.99.
  • It was a white letter variation. Unfortunately it has yellowed over the years................

  • Obviously a novice collector. He doesn't realize how rare this is. This is the ultra rare "Tom" in white variation. I really don't like making fun of people, especially beginning collectors, which should be welcomed, but I couldn't resist.

Good to see this board turning more and more into an elitist snob group like so many other 'uber' collectors.

Cut the guy a break...jeez he didn't know, posted good scans, and posted here trying to clarify the card he has. Yet he gets met with this kind of snobbery?

No wonder so few new people sign up.
  • Axtell,

You're right awfully tough on this guy. Please, if he reads this, take it as friendly ribbing. He's a victim of too many ebay sh!theads.

  • The more I think about this, the worse I feel. This person is one of us. He is a member. Should be gently corrected. Come on, doing this is righteous. If we are not keepers of the hobby, than who is? If this person is a scammer than nothing lost in giving advice, right? We can educate him and hope he shares in our humor. It can only build trust.

Yea I agree, my apology to the seller. But it seems to me like he now knows the difference in what he is advertising and what is truth.

Kudos for asking questions and being proactive, I would kindly suggest changing item description and you will probably sell the card a lot faster.

I hate to say it, but this seller is a small minority compared to the high # of sellers who are trying to come up by selling falsely advertised items. So that is why I think I grouped him in w/ the rest of the jackasses who try to take advantage and scam.
