Do you peel off coating before submitting?

Was just wondering. For you members who have submitted modern cards such as the "chromes" or "refractors", do you normally peel off the protective coating prior to submitting or do you just leave it as is and allow PSA to grade the surface of the plastic (which is kind of odd if you think about it)?

I'd like to know if this is the correct way to do it, especially with PSA. I normally peel my cards anyway due to aesthetic reasons, but unless you are VERY careful you can damage your cards.
I have noticed on the few cards I have graded (1996 Select Certified Mirrors), that the surface of the plastic coating can look awful-lots of scratches (which really doesn't matter on the coating if its meant to come off). When the coating is taken off the surface looks great. But its my suspicion that PSA does take into account the plactic surface coating at times when grading-I have a PSA 8 that looks perfect except what appears to be a tiny ding on the bottom corner, when in actuality its just the corner of the coating that coming off.
