    Man, we had an impressive west coast swing, but it won't mean squat if we can't beat the Braves down the stretch!

    I fully expect the Phils to break my heart as they usually do. I actually anticipate and expect them to miss a wild card spot by one game. But I'll be rootin' for them anyway - as always. Because I'm a Philadelphia sports fan - which is a synonym for "glutten for punishment."

    last year what little divison winners mean when it comes playoff time??

    More like bases loaded with 2 outs and the bottom of the ninth! All philadelphia teams..just always seem to let us DOWN.

    joestalin, EXACTAMUNDO, The last 3 World Champions were the Wild Card entry (Angels, Marlins, and Red Sox). The important thing is getting to the dance so a team has the opportunity to win the World Series. The Wild Card entry often seems to be looser and hungrier.

    Is that a philly fan calling a team out for rings? When's the last time the phils even made the playoffs? Jeez if you're gonna play that card, at least have it make sense.

    I think the last time we made the playoffs we spanked the Braves on our way to the world series...but then again it seems like
    everyone beats the braves in the NL on the way to the world series.

    I'd suspect the Braves have won a world series more recently than the phillies. The Braves have 13 consecutive playoff appearances.

    By your own admission and arguments about the Bucs, its all about the ring, right? Phillies won a ring last when, 1980? Last playoff appearance? 1993?

    I'd say the Braves have and infinitely more success than the Phils.
