Does Anyone Else Think This Card is Trimmed (on the top)?

A 1971 OPC #55 Steve Carlton GAI 9.5

Any thoughts to this scan? I know it is tough to tell from a scan but look at the upper right edge, is it trimmed?

Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Scan

Tough to tell...may be a tad askew in the holder.
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!

Dunno, but those '71 cards are absolutely beautiful to look at!!!!

My next goal is to buy a raw complete set of this set, I don't care if they are VG-Ex, they still will look pretty nice.

  • eeehhh I don't know the top edge looks like it dips down towards the center. Unless the card has a side to side curve to it and its just bowed in the holder?

I think that is from the gaskets. the difference in reflection from the gaskets make many gai cards look that way. would not be surprised if it came from a sheet though or maybe not ...... who the hell knows anymore
  • Its probably cut from the same sheet as the Munson PSA 9

I think that might be kindo of an optical illusion, because of the the black insert that the card is in. The curve of the insert right there at the corner gives the card the appearence of bowing. IMO.

I didn't even bother to click onto the link and look at the image, but I'm going to say - yes, the card is trimmed. Those bozos "across the street" are known for trimming cards. image

Aren't OPC's always rough cuts? That one looks a lot better than some of the hockey cards out there.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

Wow, I didn't know they would actually perform the work for you. How much is that extra service?

not always , I pulled a 71 opc red sox team that has minimal if any rough cut the other day . the other cards were miscut and rough cut but they all aren't
