Just Having Fun -Shield nickels,Liberty nickels,Jefferson nickels or his Standing Liberty Quarters ?
Trade Dollar Nut - His Seated dollar collection ?
Stewart Blay - His Lincoln cents,Indian cents or his Barber dimes ?
Joshua - His Mercury dimes ?
Man of Coins - Washington Quarters ?
High Desert - Type Set ?
Joshua will be selling his Large cents,Flying Eagle cents and his Lincoln cents in the January Heritage FUN auction in Orlando.
Any other major sets in the Registry that will be sold that are not in the calendar as yet ?

Why can't this be discussed on this board? There is no selling going on? Just discussion about who's selling, etc. This rules thing is getting a little out of hand, IMHO.
Many of those collectors/collections mentioned are owned by those who will keep their coins until their dying day, so there may be no discussion of a sale here. If I had to guess, I'd say that an ultimate grade set, impervious to grade-flation will be the next smart registry set buy - perhaps a collection of 70s, like a top-notch, unequalled Complete PCGS set of American Silver, Gold and Platinum Eagles (except, of course, for the "Spotted Eagles")

I did not state "Modern Crap" in my post.So take your Proof 70 spotted eagles and tone them in a place where the sun don't shine......far away from my post

ps. Thanks for the entertainment.
buy his set.... I still think the wash set will be the next on that list to go.

There are some lincoln cents sets in the raw owned by several Massachussetts collectors that are the finest lincoln cents I have ever seen. The only one finer I have seen is Stew's 1919 cent. But their sets basically ended in 1964 when they stopped adding to their sets which gives you an idea when they began their sets!

Stewart,
How certain are you that Mr. E is going to be selling in January? Can the market handle another top Lincoln set?

Boom it isn't, the comments to the contrary were an exaggeration. It is no longer permissable to peddle your wares on this forum. Some folks abused the privilege by only posting here when they had coins for sale, while others posted here to promote their coin business.

I also doubt Laura is talking about anything less than raw gold, and non-lincolns.

These are NOT lightweight coins....more are coming!
Well, I hope my Standing Liberty Quarters don't come on the market any time soon.
I told my son that when I go to that MS70 in the sky, that was the time to sell that collection -- to pay estate taxes.
Regarding the other sets, I'm a businessman and anything I have is for sale -- at a price. But so long as business is good -- and it is very good right now -- I have no urge or urgency to sell. So the price required to pry my Two Cent Pieces, Silver Threes, Shield Nickels, Jefferson's, or Booker T's away from me -- would probably be significantly more than the coins are worth individually.
And my US Philippine collection -- don't even dream about it. NFS at anywhere close to current prices. Those coins have just begun the first leg up of a major bull market, and they've already doubled in value. Where are they going? I think in terms of coins scarcer than the 1918/7 S SLQ in MS 64 Full Head, selling literally for $1,000 or $2,000. So my instructions to my son is to hold on them until they've matured -- and I've given him an idea of how to tell that.
Thank you for the interesting and fun thread.
Warm regards,
