What do you think of this as a (registry) set?

I've recently been working on an Excel spreadsheet for my type set, figuring out all the years and mintmarks for each type. I noticed there were quite a few types where a branch mint produced coins in only 1 year - not counting 1 year types like 1943 steelies.

I call this set "Branch Mints to the Rescue"™. The list is probably not entirely accurate, so feel free to rip on my poor data entry skills, but please opine on this set concept too image

1909-O G$5 Indian
1908-D G$10 Indian No Motto
1879-O G$20 Liberty TWENTY DOLLARS
1908-D G$20 St. Gaudens No Motto

There's 1 coin I just can't figure out either - 1838-O h10c Liberty Seated No Stars: it's not strictly a 1 year type because it was minted in 1837-1838, but Philly only made it in 1837 and N'awlens only made it in 1838. There's also probably a few Seated Liberty's you could rip out if you don't buy into weight as a type differentiation like I do - ie. 10c Drapery 2.673 grams vs. Drapery 2.488 grams.
Varieties are the spice of a Type Set.

I think collecting a set such as this would provide for an exciting educational experience. Obviously you have done a great deal of research in detail to learn about many series and to discover the one-year entries. A task of equal or greater challenge would be to assign a proposed weighting for each coin in this set.
A "set" can be defined as you determine, and I like this scenario. I am not sure about it becoming a popular reg. set, per se, but it does add to the suggestions, mentioned here before, that there should be a "DIY" (design it youself) reg. set with little or flexible parameters, so a collector can be recognized for imaginative sets such as yours. Good idea and good work!

hrm, I'd have to say that'll be quite a bit bigger challenge, as scanning down an excel spreadsheet looking for cells with only 1 year in them was pretty easy. I don't really understand how one should come up with weights, but I imagine it's a combination of price and number of surviving coins. Still, that's a good idea though, it'll give me something coin related to do while I wait for my coin budget to catch up again.

I can't imagine it ever would either, the concept is a little weird I suppose, and there's some really tough coins in there. Like you said though registrycoin, I also think it's another kind of set that's a good excuse for PCGS creating a DIY registry set, so that people can put things like this together. I'm not sure if I'll ever complete this set myself, but I'm seriously considering trying to buy coins from this list for my US Type Set, and that would get me most of the way there - and the extras I'd need would give me something to do while trying to figure out how to get my grubby paws on a 1796 50c.
