I find it hard to be on the computer and on these forum pages hour after hour such as some that post here. I post about 1x every 2 days, but I do try and read some every day.
Just like the newspaper, the title of the story has to grab me to get me to read it. Now if it is someone that I find interesting and knowledgable (<---Did I spell thatright?) I will read irregardless of the topic, such as this post by our very famous CLADKING!
Even my wife noticed the recent lackluster participation on the boards. She saw the posts that led to the downfall of the reg. forum, and questioned the logic that caused the powers-that-be to contribute to the demise; "Do you think that they want registry collectors to quit supporting the PCGS product?"

I've been a reader and a participant on the Set Registry forum since the begining. I find it very interesting that in the past couple of days we see a number of threads and posts here complaining about how "dull" this forum is. Just Having Fun started it, and although I repect the man very much, I truely wonder if this whole thing isn't a "set up".
Let's be factual. The Set Registry forum has NEVER been very popular. If you want to talk coins you go to the Coin forum. People "use" this Set Registry forum for various reasons. When I post I usually use this forum BECAUSE it is not that active and most of the people I'm trying to comunicate with will actually SEE my post on the first page within a few days. We all know that if we post on the Coin forum our post will be on page 2 within hours. We are usually motivated to post because we WANT people to see our post. There is something else going on here IMHO beside the honest attempt to "liven up" the Set Registry forum.
Please don't use this Set Registry forum to become the same as the Coin Forum. We NEED the coin forum as it is to provide entertainment value with a large number of threads that we can scan and decide what to read, but for serious stuff, let's leave this Set Registry forum alone.
P.S. I really don't remember the issues with Jamie but I do believe in second chances. Steve

I switched mine to the coin forum (too).

With much respect for the other comments, I don't think JHF started anything. He sat back, watched, learned, thought, and then pointedly wrote some of his observations that, admittedly, we missed, defining the "heart and soul" of the matter. JHF looked at the issue at hand from a different perspective, one which differenciates his posts and viewpoint from others. I wish I took the same tack more often. Realistically, I probably "started it" and will take all the blame for pointing out lame changes in this forum. The registry forum has NEVER been as popular as the coin forum for a purpose. The reg. forum was started to separate from the coin forum, discussion of building, buying, selling reg. sets/coins. The comments from those who join the discussions on the reg. forum just to degrade reg. coin collectors and their coins and collections should be welcomed, just as JHF recommends. Accept the complaints and learn from them. edited to add: I expect, although, that some complaints are due to sour grapes, and rightfully ignored.
Most of the discussion of REGISTRY Coins is now on the BST and US Coin Forums. When was the last "I got grades" post on here? When was the last time you saw a post of "I need this coin for my set" Just a couple of reasons the traffic is down IMO.
