I don't know, but I have an old Pontiac promo medal.

I found one of those "Pontiac, Chief of the Sixes" tokens with my detector.

And a dollar-sized bronze token that sang the praises of the "Oldsmobile Futuramatic 88".

By medal standards it is distressingly common. There were probably in the neighborhood
of half a million produced and many are still around. It is part of about a thirty piece set, how-
ever, and some of them are quite scarce or at least rarely seen. Each GM division made a
medal for this 1954 event (Delco, Fischer Body, et al).

There are three or four which are commonly seen and this is the most common. It was prob-
ably given away with a test drive or something. There are at least three varieties for it mean-
ing it was restruck a couple times with one of the varieties a little tougher especially in unc.

It makes a great set and everytime I think it's done, a new one shows up.

A rather common item with low artistic quality. Not worth much, I'm afraid.

When I read the title, I thought you had one of the specimens struck on the GM press! image
