1971 Topps-- My Latest Results

Wow, I am even impressed myself! As before, my minimum grade is a 7 for my set. All of these cards were purchased raw on the "Bay." I guess you can still find decent raw cards if you look hard enough! Many were purchased for 99 cents apiece. image Really, only two stinkers out of 41 cards (one miscut and a PSA 8 o/c). Now that I am adding about 40 more cards to my set, I can see this thing getting close to getting done! Whoopee!!!

Very nice results. Fast turnaround. What service level did you use?

Jayhawke, I used the $5.00 collector's club special. My last three or four submissions have been lightening quick which is a good thing. It sure has increased my submissions.
  • Great results, Matt. I still have a 60 card submission in the works including 57 1971 Topps. It was logged in on 8/8/05 so I hope I get my results soon too.

Good luck on that Mike. If you have any dupes, or get any dupes, that I need, drop me a note. I am now over the 75% hump and going down the stretch!

    Mefer,

Did you use the 1972-1992 special?? If so, how did you get 1971s graded at $5.00? I've got some 71's I'd like to get graded at $5.00!

No, it was the special before last that included 71s.
  • David,

Unfortunately, you might not see that special again for quite a while. It was the first time since I joined PSA about 3 years ago that they ran a special including 1970s and 1971s. They always seem to fall through the cracks because post-1971 are considered modern and past specials have either focused on particular pre-1970 decades (e.g., 1950s, 1960s, etc.) or modern cards (e.g., 1972 and up).

I think you'll see them included more often...it seems PSA really is listening to what their customers want in specials (as evidenced by the tall boy special).

  • Brian--- I have a 71 for you-- I just emailed you-- Tony
