Pretty Amazing...Board member passes away and support is huge

I wanderd over to the open forum earlier and found these two posts locked at the top.

The pug is with God now.

Donations to Frank's Family

A member who frequented the open and the coin boards passed away yesterday morning. I found it amazing reading the posts about him and seeing how many people's, most of which he never met, lives he touched. It amazes me that there has been such an outpour of memories, thoughts and prayers of the gentleman who passed.

I also found it wonderful that in the second link, the board set up fund for board members to paypal a donation for the family to help with funeral expenses and whatnot.

Sometimes the inherent good in people can shed some powerful light on an unfortunate event. I never met or even heard of Frank Chiong(FC57Coins) until after he passed but it is nice that his memory is be acknowledged by so many people he touched. Rest in peace Frank.

There was another frequent baseball board member who died. Forgive me for forgetting his name, he was a great guy even though
    I never met him.

That is quite a beautiful outpouring of condolences and sympathy.

  • I posted on the thread "the pug has passed" I believe it truly is touching all the support that is being shown.

  • Once a year a young member named airplanenut holds an auction to raise money for various charities. The forum members donate the coins to be auctioned off. After 9/11 I believe they raised close to $50,000 by auctioning off specialy encapsulated coins. And even after the Tsneume. (I know that was a poor attempt to spell. ) Someone started an e-bay auction for relief and people started contributing items and it closed at or near $5,000. Some very good people over there.

Theres even someone giving away a rare and very collectable set of quarters. Post to the thread and you are entered.
