Predictions on an authentic trimmed 52 Topps Mantle?

Pretty sweet looking card.

I suppose. If you're not too concerned about 1/32 of an inch, it's worth considering.

Sides look a bit wavy. Still, imagine buying that card raw, sending it in to PSA and getting a "trimmed" back. image

  • Why?

.....because certain people in the hooby can transfer
it into a PRO holder and find someone to pay twice
    that amount. image

Just about everyone who buys PRO cards could find out what they are getting with the most basic research. I'm alot more worried that this card will work it's way into a more reputable companies holder. If that occurs with a famous card the graded card industry as a whole will lose credibility.

not from Levi and a 4 probably won't diplay as nice as this card. this is the best looking example of this card that most people can afford without getting rounded corners and creases.

    1952 Topps 311 Mickey Mantle 0 $1,850
    1952 Topps 311 Mickey Mantle 1 $3,000
    1952 Topps 311 Mickey Mantle 1 $3,250
    1952 Topps 311 Mickey Mantle 1 $3,750
    1952 Topps 311 Mickey Mantle 1 $4,000
    1952 Topps 311 Mickey Mantle 2 $5,250
    1952 Topps 311 Mickey Mantle 4 $8,250
  • Absolutely no way it goes for a penny less than 10k. I'm guessing it hits in the 15-18 range.

Any idea what this card in this condition would grade if it weren't trimmed? 7? 8?
  • Based upon the nice centering and color/gloss of the card if it was a 7 I would bet $30K and if it was and 8- $75K.

If you mean Gary Moser's buying ID, isn't that syzygy or something?

I'd bet you're right - one of the notorious card doctors will probably wind up with this again, and I'd bet it will show up in another company's holder.

I think it presents quite well in the PSA holder, though - and my guess is a $12K final price.

Actually, I believe that syzygy may have consigned this card to Tuttle.
