Leaving the hobby for a while ....

Just wanted to wish those who I am in contact with at least on a minimal basis a temporary but probably long adios! Starting a major addition to my house and will be "GC"ing the entire project. I made the unfortunate and unwanted decision that all of the time I spend on this wonderful hobby is not acceptable at this new time for me. Be good all of you crazy fockers! imageimageimage

Dan - wait a minute! Who's going to support late 70's graded around here? At least with you doing your 1978 set, I didn't feel like such a nutcase for doing my 1979 set.

But, this hobby really does occupy your time, so I understand. Fix up the house, have a few beers, and keep in touch. Good luck on the project!

Dude! I was just about to sell off my near complete set of Mint 1962 Topps Civil War News cards--and I was going to give you first dibs!

I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

This has been coming for a while now, you guys are all great! ctsox ..... keep collecting 70's graded! Screw all of the snooty ba$tard$ !!!! 70's rock! Good luck to your Red Sox only if my Yankees can't find a way ... pa .... posting once in a while turns into obsession. I know myself. I need to do this, I am really addicted to this hobby and in the next year I am getting married and a whole bunch of other good things ..... I will be back in full force with the blessing of my loving future wife. We just need to concentrate time elsewhere! Dan

I have appreciated your input here and hope to hear from you again. Now that my kids have gotten out of haiku (er, high school!! -- oh oh, here comes mudflap!), I'm getting back into the hobby. It can be done!

Best of luck on whatever you undertake -- especially a new relationship! Family comes first...

    Dan-

good luck with whatever you need to undertake! I hear you on the complete shutout and most of us here can relate that every now and then would lead back to everyday all out.

Enjoy your time away and try to stay sane!

    Mike (Stoner) image,

If it was not for that Roy White you sent me I would not be here now! I am addicted, the first thing I do when I get home is hit the computer and fall into sometimes late night adventures chasing this hobby. Nothing wrong with that I know! buuuuut duty calls! If I get a toothache I know where to send my x-rays! image

zef, the 78's are awesome! keep up the good work ...

Idferg, hoof, cornholio .... I WILL be back! Can't wait ....

Stalin .... I feel NO salvation. I wish I did. But really, this hobby is so addictive and I know myself.

Thanks guys! I know this has been coming and it sucks .... I spend at least 20 hours a week chasing this wonderful hobby. Those 20 hours need to be re-directed for a while image

Good luck Softparade. I'm on your heels. Taken a spell for a while due to a new business enterprise draining time and gish. But who cares about me...you actually had valuable posts!!!!

You're falling for brainwashing crap about needing food, water, and shelter. Putting stuff like houses and women ahead of cards like you've forgotten what's really important! You get me hooked on Civil War News, then go on the wagon! Well, good luck. I know you'll be back.

Best of luck, Dan. One word of advice-- make sure you hire a decent roofer.

One nice thing about the hobby is that it isn't going anywhere. I hope you manage to find your way back.

Mike - some day soon, hope to say the same. When I worked in corporate America - had under appreciated priviledges. Now that I "own my own job" - gotta work hard to get back to the same place without the BS. Regards.
