Question on modern world silver proof sets

It seems that there are a lot of seemingly high priced world proof sets. A $40 silver proof has buy it now prices of $150 ++. Are any of them actually worth collecting or are they trying to ride the wave that the quarter series.

Some of the designs would be nice to own but I hesitate on the premium.

Some of those BIN prices are highly optimistic. image

There are a few modern world silver sets which are in demand and sometimes trade above catalog value. There are a lot more that trade around melt value.

Modern proofs come up for sale often, sold by a lot of diferent sellers. On the surface it seems reasonable to skip BINs like that.

Do you have any links to examples you are specifically interested in?

Some of the more interesting ones have been the Laos fish, the African Frogs and the Tour de France euro.

I see the China Panda at all the coin shows which generally sell for a small premium over melt.
