Ah.. If John Hilton as shown in the 73 is the same as "Dave Hilton" who is in the 74, 75 and 77(missed one), then I stand corrected.

I checked my Schmidt Rookie and the Baseball Almanac on this one.
"John David Hilton" on the RC is the same as the "Dave Hilton" who played 3 seasons (+4 games of a 4th) for the Padres.
Looks like he was a bad hitter.
