got burned by paypal...

I won an ebay auction, paid via PayPal, and the item received was not the item that was described. A complaint was filed with PayPal, who after 35-40 days, ruled in my favor. I was asked to return the item to sender with proof of delivery. Any issued refund would be contingent upon the seller receiving the item. I promptly returned the item as there is short time window (don't recall the exact number of days). Now PayPal is telling me they ruled in my favor, but are unable to recover funds from the seller's accounts, and that they are working with the seller. Also the ebay account has since become NARU'ed.

So, I guess I will never see the money unless the person happens to start using PayPal again? The most disappointing part is PayPal asked me to return the item and cover the postage, and now they are basically leaving me empty handed.

That sucks! They should be responsible as they told you to send back the item.

  • paypal "help" is competely worthless. if you have a problem you must go straight to your credit card company and never pay via another paypal method (echeck, transfer, etc) unless you know the seller as if you have a problem you are at paypal's mercy.

ah yes..paypal. www.paypalsucks.com They suck. Sorry to hear about your problem with them. I always cringe at the thought of having similar problems some day. I've had my share but that really sucks.

Hope it works out for you.

I would call paypal directly. I had a paypal dispute with a seller. Paypal ruled in error twice in favor of the seller. it was much easier talking to a live person then to email me.

Paypal has the same great Customer Service as ebay
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
