OT but nice: beautiful banknote

I came across this one a while ago. It's from the Comoro Islands. I just love the design and the colours. BTW if you think the picture looks a bit grainy it's because the note is printed that way.





I am really trying not to get into papermoney as well. Collecting coins from all over the world is quite enough. I might have to collect some African banknotes at some point, though

What's the empty white circles for?

Is that a polymer thingie? If so, the white circles are "windows" of sorts.

It's printed on ordinary paper. The white circle contains the watermark. With so much colour on the banknote the watermark would be very hard to see unless they made an "empty" area on the note.

That's where the watermark is placed.

I'll post the Comoro's note I have too (shows the watermark) although I like Marcel's better!



Collecting paper money but it takes a backseat to coins due to time and money, but not interest.

Brad, I intend to get that one as well. Only four or so different notes circulate on the Comoros so it should be a fairly easy set to assemble.
