he took that al qaeda tape today and dubed over it with raffy speech to congress about roids. funny kind of but in bad taste i thought.

Ah - I can see how that might be construed as bad taste. Dumping on Raffy is one thing, but equating him with Al Qaeda (sp?) is another.

    Leno's a hack...can you expect anything better?

He's a hollywood kissup, the worst of the kind, and an absolute horrible interviewer.

I'm not surprised...he doesn't have an original funny thought in his huge melon.

Letterman 'gets it'...he understands that the show should be funny, not necessarily him. He has a lot of Carson (his idol) in him. Carson was the all time best, but Letterman's wit and dry humor (to me) are incredibly funny.

Conan is hillarious too...and I think a lot of things will change on his show when he moves to 11:30, just like Letterman did when he moved his show to CBS. The 11:30 crowd I don't think is ready for Conan's brand of comedy...it will be interesting to see how much things change.

I haven't watched Kimmel in a while... So he's still funny? I was bartending nights when he first strted and watched him every night. I haven't watched him in the last 8-10 months or so...

I thought that Snoop should be a permanent cohost.

yep.. its the only late night show i watch regularly..

unfortunately, they've done away with the weekly co-host thing.. i agree, snoop is always a great guest on there.. i wish they wouldve kept having co-hosts..

    man poor guy!

BULLSHIP! "Raffy" has made millions of dollars pitching Viagra which he may need due to his steroid use.

I have ZERO sympathy for him and his siuation.

    Agreed.

Raffy brought all of this upon himself. He wants to cry out 'foul' and his agent wants to say MLB is at fault for leaking the results of the tests showing his client as a fraud, liar, and possible perjurer.

I hope it doesn't stop with Raffy; I hope the big names out there who have been juicing all get thrown on the carpet.
  • I don't think making fun of someone who legitimately threatens our country is a good idea.

  • I didn't watch it last night, but Raffy deserves all the negative attention. I usually find Leno funny... Conan too. I loathe CBS so I don't watch Letterman...

Heh I'm sure that same mentality was what most thought about bin Laden, and we see how well that worked out.

American ignorance is someday going to be changed...to think we are invulnerable is a fallacy. 9/11 should have shown everyone that.

    Pandrews-

I wasn't speaking to the point of making fun of so and so, it was your comment:

"gimme a break.. screw al-zawahiri or whatever the hell his name is..."

That mentality is the same mentality good ole W has...'we are superior! No one can defeat us!' As if there is no one who can challenge the mighty US. Yet they are showing in Iraq that despite the infinite disparity between us and them in numbers and military might, they are putting up one hell of a struggle. Why do you think those insurgents hate the US so much? Might it be the same superior attitude that you (and many, many Americans) show to the rest of the world?

  • pandrewspandrews Posts: 7,598 ✭✭✭

OF COURSE the United States is superior (in nearly EVERY way).. that doesnt mean we're not vulnerable..

The war in Iraq is unwinnable.

The sooner W realizes that, and begins the withdrawal of our troops, the better. While we might be superior in numbers and might, they are willing to fight dirty, do whatever it takes to put up a fight.
