This coin was struck to commemorate the millennium and has the harp on the obverse and the Broighter boat in the reverse. The Broighter boat was part of a hoard of objects found at Broighter, Co. Derry in 1896. This boat, which is now on display at the National Museum, dates back to the first century BC. The coin is struck from sterling silver and weighs 20 grammes. It has a diameter of 31.1mm. I couldn't get the coin out of the capsule so I shot it this way. I was too chicken to force it out![image](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif)

Gahhh, what did I just say?
I have owned TWO proof Irish coins. How silly of me to forget the ex-Boiler78 penny I miss so much. (NGC PR64 CAM). And before that I had a PR61 gilt halfpenny that Don got.
The harp does indeed look good in cameo.
