Hope this has not already been mentioned.......picked up the Hockey Beckett today (August edition) and there is a nice story about board member Knuckles (aka Garrett) and his custom-made cut-sig cards. I hope the picture is decent.

i want a copy, and i want Knucks to autograph it for me!..
maybe i'd eventually submit it to PSA/DNA..
<< <i>previous thread about this someone posted a link with a PDF format so everyone could read it and see the pictures >>
I missed it. Where is it? I'd love to read it.
Here is the thread
Rich
<< <i>I didn't see any of Knucks' cards there, though. What am I doing wrong? >>
Mac, as I said, I was "off" meaning "incorrect". Knuckles' link on the other thread was about austinchau's basketball cards which was in an article in a Beckett Basketball magazine. None of knuckles cards are inthe article--just austinchau's cards.
Sorry for the confusion.
Things really started to snow ball. I received so many requests to make autographs that I decided to change the website I made for the Beckett feature from just a gallery to also offer the service to make cards for those interested. My clients from dmdclassics.com (I made their website) talked me into going to the Toronto Sports Card & Memorabilia Expo in November with them to show my stuff, take orders, sell cards I've made.. Should be interesting, I've never gone to a huge card show before let alone setup at one. It should be a lot of fun.
Here's the Beckett Feature. It will take some time to load, you may want to just right click on the link and choose 'save target as' and open it once the download is complete.
again, congrats
<< <i>Thanks for the kind words and encouragement guys. I can't believe all the hype over those two cards, it's been pretty cool.

Very sweet cards and article. Surprised Beckett let you go into detail regarding PSA/DNA and even the low price. Would you be interested in making other sports cards? Like cuts from baseball, football or basketball. Also that Mikita is tempting you may have some business coming your way for that one. I love these cards.

Most definitely. I'll create a card of any athlete from any sport, celebrities from any genre, world leaders, explorers, whatever.

Yea. Now, come on Mr. Orlando gimme some free PSA/DNA $20 submissions for plugging the company.
Hows that Dryden coming along?I can't wait to see it!

<< <i>Good job knuckles Hows that Dryden coming along?I can't wait to see it! >>
Thanks It unfortunately was too large to use so I sold it and bought another. Its actually what I'm working on right now along with a few others.
<< <i>Good luck with the new venture and hope to see you in Toronto in November >>
Thanks Ryan and yeah come by to say hi.. in the expo 'magazine' that they hand out they'll have a floor plan with table #'s and a listing of all the dealers just look for dmdclassics.com, that's where I'll be.
<< <i>Do you think PSA will allow your cards to be added to HOF Auto registry sets if they are PSA/DNA'ed >>
Yeah, for sure. In the HOF autograph PSA registered sets there's sports cards with no grade assigned in there. That's no different then my cards.
<< <i>Congrats Knuckles! I want to thank you for the inspiration. I am begining work on a wrestling legends set. I am not the best on the computer so there is going to be ALOT of trial & error. >>
Thanks and good luck! If you have any questions don't hesitate to pm me.

<< <i>Are you going to be setting up to take orders and sell some of your current "creations"? >>
I wonder the legalityy should you choose to sell these as they have the team logo and the HOF logo. Do you need licensing to use these logos in something you produce?
I know there are some with JD's here that could shed some light on this.

<< <i>Yep and yep. I'll have between 15-20 for sale, some index cards for sale with the option to not only buy the autograph but to make it into a card as well.. I'm going to try and get a little brochure made up for people to take which will include an order form with instructions as to how to place a order, info about the cards and whatever else.. It will be more clear than what's on the website which I also plan to redo soon. >>
As for licensing, I'm not too sure.. If a painter painted a piece of Mickey Mantle with the yankee logo in it and sold it no one would think anything of it I would think.. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Don Scott of vintagemasks.com who I purchased the masks shown in the article has been fighting with the NHL for awhile because the NHL wants royalties.. If it comes down to that I'll have to increase what I charge I guess.
edited to add.. or maybe I just won't use the logo's.
I hear ya... More curiosity than anything else.
I think the logos look sweet so I think it would be better to deal with the prob. if it comes up rather than not using the logos. JMO

I liked your webpage, I saved that to my favorites.
So hows about a discount for us board members...

<< <i>So hows about a discount for us board members >>
I didn't think of that! (Should have made my prices higher so I could charge less to you guys) *kidding..
Seriously though I made the prices as low as I could possibly go without selling myself short for my time/material etc.. I do offer 10% off on orders of 5 cards+ though.
Seriously, the cards and article are VERY deserved and are just cool as !! I just can't say enough nice things about both you and the cards you create. You are a quality individual and as they say, the cream rises to the top!
Good luck and remember us little puckheads when you hit "Listed Star" status!

<< <i>Garret, I swear I'm going to see your cards featured in my local paper any day now! Between here and "other places" I'm seeing 'Chuk & Plante in my sleep! >>
Well it's a good thing I didn't use these pictures for the cards or those dreams would be nightmares!
Thanks very much for the kind words and well wishes Bob.
