I got beat out of 22 items tonight!!

Most I was out bid by a dollar or two. That is actually good, I am not over paying by too much! I was bummed about one card though. I set a "super snipe" about 100 higher than I expected it to end. SOmeone outbid me by 3 dollars. Who knows how high their bid was.

The best advise I have been ever given here in these board and advise which is basically common sense is: PATIENCE there will always be another example of the same card which will come up again.

Yup. Last night a 1973 #1 PSA 8 that I was watching sold for $90, right at SMR. Tonight another one sold for $71. There will always be one cheaper coming along -- unless we're talking about 1909 Honus Wagner!

I win less than 5% of the auctions I bid on. But everything I win I could flip immediately for a 15% profit. I'll take that every day.

I'm not winning squat these days either. It seems like there hasn't been the selection the last few weeks (I think because of the national), so maybe people have just been itching to buy so bids are a bit higher than normal. I'm losing probably more than half of the items by one bid increment of price. Probably if I would just start sniping I'd do much better, but I can't bring myself to do it. But I agree, patience is the key.

Last week I won 8 cards from one seller, I think I bid on about 20 of his cards. I know for a fact I had bid on some of these exact cards over the years competeing with this seller. Patience will go along way, most cards come back around (sometimes cheaper, sometimes not). If it's something you can live without, try to get it as cheap as you can. If you have to have it for whatever reason (ie: you own 6 or the 10 made, or something like that) bid enough that you win it.

just my two little rusty old pennies.
