Hey Joe? Uhm, what did the Patriots do BEFORE they got Dillon?

The Bucs had injuries; all teams face injuries.
  • joestalinjoestalin Posts: 12,473 ✭✭
they barely beat the Panthers, thats what they did. Great defense can take you a long way. Tom Brady is a great QB. The NFC
was weak this year, Patsies got a free ticket, big deal. If someone big on the offense gets hurt and they still go to the SB Ill

<< <i>you think NE could do anything minus Dillion and Brady? >>

You are comparing Secretariat with what came out of the wrong end of the Triple Crown winner.

The closest any of the Bucs O comes to Brady and Dillon is their impression of Secretariat's present state....six feet under and smelling up the joint.

Their is no way to compare the Patriots without Brady and Dillon and the Bucs without four O starters. The four Bucs couldn't compete with the two Patriots on their best day.

It deeply saddens me to see two Bucs fans "fighting" with each other. This is disturbing and troubling to see this going on. I certainly hope that there is peace and harmony amongst all Bucs fans towards each other as we go into this cherished NFL Football season.

The Boys sold out every game last year, and the year before that, and the year before that. Yea we have bandwagon fans, but what team doesn't . The only good thing about the bad seasons it that you find out who the true fans are. The Boys will be back on top of the East and the rest of the NFL again!!!

  • Many teams sell out every game. In fact most sell out, either by fans or companies who buy the last unsold tickets to avoid the local TV blackout.

Not everyone shows up when their team is losing.
  • Every game that I have been to was packed. It might empty out by the fourth, but it starts out packed. I try to make a least 2 to 4 games a season.

One, how many years have 'experts' been proclaiming the demise of the Pats?

Second, the schedule makers give who an easy road? The schedules are set up years in advance....you think the NFL is going out of its way to give the Pats an easy schedule? Come on now, you are getting ridiculous.

Joe, it's apparent - you know nothing about football.

  • Not even the "mighty bucs" can claim 3 superbowls in 4 years. And i see nothing to indicate a 4th would not be won. Cmon, give me a valid reason why the Pats can't repeat.

If you listen to Joe, he'll say it's because the Pats have a soft schedule, it's because they got lucky, it's because of a soft NFC...the excuses over and over except the real reason - the Pats have the best TEAM in the NFL.
  • joestalinjoestalin Posts: 12,473 ✭✭
The other teams have gotten much better. Indy is ready to go on the road and win, they will not be losing dumb games like
they did last year. I also think the AFC East has gotten much tougher. It has been a cakewalk the last few years, but now
the Bills seem to be back the Jets should at least be in the playoff hunt.

Mark my words on the Patsies, no SB ring this year. No matter how far Axtell spreads his legs to try to jump ship he can not
    help his other favorite team!

Just admit you are a Seahawk fan and be done with it. This new favorite team every week is getting old.

If I remember right, the Bucs DO play New England this year....oh yeah...we own Philly, we will now be looking for third place to call
    our own!

Funny, after our super bowl we had to go to Philly the next year, you guys get Oakland, one of the worst teams in the league, at your
place...the teams may be deceided upon in advance but the order you play them is choosen after the season. You all should go to
Pitt first....someone is looking out for you!! Oh well..1-2 isn't that bad a start huh?

    Joe-

Don't mistake my respect for the best team in football as 'jumping ship' to a new team. It's called respect...something you obviously know nothing about. The Pats have deserved that (3 super bowls in 4 years = dynasty), and yet I think you are probably the only fan in America not to understand that.

I like you mention NE's first opponent this year; but fail to recognize their first opponent last year? Indy. First opponent in 2002 after winning the 2001 super bowl? Pittsburgh. Your conspiracy theory that the NFL schedule makers are working to give the Pats a soft schedule is just ridiculous. What possible difference would it make which way the games fall for the Pats? You are going to say that somehow playing a weaker team in week 1 gives the Pats an advantage? Jeez you really are nuts.

Your calling me out and saying I'm not a real Bucs fan? Ridiculous. When did you climb on the ship? During the playoff run in 2002? You are quite the loudmouth Joe. You continue to show everyone repeatedly just how ignorant you are when it comes to football. Where are your undefeated predictions for the Bucs? I am not going to sit here and try to impress upon you that I am a fan...for you, it seems that no other team is deserving of respect - no matter how dominant a team they are.
  • kuhlmannkuhlmann Posts: 3,326 ✭✭
(3 super bowls in 4 years = dynasty),

hmmmm i think there was another team that did that in the early 90's????
  • AxtellAxtell Posts: 10,037 ✭✭
No disrespect to the cowboys, but for the patriots to do it in this era of forced parity and salary caps is truly amazing.

  • joestalinjoestalin Posts: 12,473 ✭✭
Oh lets not forget how the patsies got to the super bowl!! I would think they shouldn't of even been in the one! Tuck rule doesn't sound
    like domination to me.

I have been a bucs fan since 1979.....They year they stunned everyone going to the playoffs, and then upsetting the Eagles
and then almost the Rams....in typical bucs fashion....little offenese and plenty of defense. I then sat through the 1982
season when we won our last three games of the season to get into the playoffs and draw the mighty Dallas
Cowboys in the first round....did we have a shot in*ell?? I though so.

and then there was the Dungy era...those defenses were legendary....holding perhaps the greatest offensive team ever, the 99 Rams
to just 11 points. There wasn't a team all year who had come close to that!! All this with a rookie from Tulane at QB. I got an email
after that Redskin game to sell my 99 SPA Shaun King RC for 130 dollars...a card that booked 75....did I sell it? What do you think?

I am as deep a bucs fan as they come. I can assure you that. Only real fans will understand this. You may like the mascot or
maybe own a hat but you my friend, are not a real fan. A real fan only knows his team, All the others are a joke.

How great did it feel in 2002 when the bucs went coast to coast dispite all the people who didn't believe? Oh it felt great....I was
all alone here on the boards, everyone was against me. I talked smack and they fired back, but you know what? The bucs
were dominate that year! You remember how they started that year? I doubt you do, only a real fan would....all I remember is
throwing a book against the wall as we started out 0-1, in usual bucs fashion..scoring few points.....tupa dropping the ball
in the end zone........can you believe starting a super bowl run losing the first game of the season at home when your punter throws
an interception ran back for 6???

The bucs thrive on defense. If we had 1/10th of the offense that other teams had we would have 3 rings by now. Injuries, hold
outs, lack of draft picks, think what you want but this year there is firepower! You will see

You can root for whomever you want, but please don't come on here and call yourself a bucs fan.

    Joe-

Unlike yourself, I never questioned who you were a fan of. I never sat there and said you weren't a real fan.

I did call you delusional because you cannot respect what other teams have done/are doing. If you sit there and say the patriors are the most complete team in the NFL, it's not because you're a 'real fan', it's because you can't appreciate what you don't have. You are going to sit there and say you'd rather have Griese or Simms instead of Brady? And you'd rather have Pittman instead of Dillon? I know I sure as hell would make those trades in an instant.

That makes me somehow less of a fan? If that's the case, call me a realistic fan. You are going to sit there and say you'd rather have Galloway on the team instead of TO? Man are you nuts?

It's one thing to be passionate about Bucs football - ask any one of my friends or coworkers how passionate I am about Bucs football. Ask my former coworkers, who were all devout 49er fans, how much mess they gave me when the Bucs, fresh off another losing season heading in the 97 campaign. Ask them about the beating the Bucs gave them, holding the 49ers to less than 10 points for the first time in forever. For you to sit there and question my convictions as a fan - Joe, you're wrong. You're wrong.

I think you are a nut, Joe. I think you should seek immediate mental therapy, if you cannot comprehend that the Bucs don't possess the best player at every position. I am as big a fan as there is, and even I can put my hands around the concept that the Bucs are rebuilding, that the Bucs need more, younger help before they will be competitive.

Call me a 'bandwagon' fan, call me what you want, just because I am a realist and don't set myself up for unrealistic expectations. I would think as a Bucs 'fan', you'd do the same.

P.S. I like how you skipped from the glory days of 82 to the Dungy era - did you stop watching during those years, hopping back on board when they reappeared in the playoffs? Did you forget about the Wyche experiment? Or the other forgettable coaches the penny pinching management brought on board? Are you sure YOU aren't the bandwagon fan?

  • joestalinjoestalin Posts: 12,473 ✭✭
2-14 isn't even worth bringing up, a true fan is much more disappointed in missing out on the super bowl by 2 points. Who needs Doug
Williams, Steve Deberg and Steve Young....they will never win rings right???LOL

and what about Trent Dilfer..would you of rather had him or Kurt Warner in 2000? I can't even name a receiver on that Raven's team, can you?
Ill take Greise and Ill take Caddy and Ill take Alstott and you can have pretty boy Brady to fantasize about....we will be out winning
rings with guys named Brooks, Barber, and Rice.

I look forward to seeing you on the next Charmin commercial....you will be the one with a wad of TP in you shorts as you jump from week
    to week.

    Thanks

You continue to miss my point. You don't want to give Brady respect because he doesn't wear a Bucs uniform? Talk about short-sightedness.

And are you sure you were around since 79? You think that Doug Williams didn't want to resign with the Bucs? Or was it the Bucs ownership who was too cheap (and too bigoted) to pay him the money he deserved.

It's apparent that you will never understand that you can be a fan of your team as well as respect other players in the league. It's apparent you aren't a fan of the game of football, you are a blinded fanatic who can't see there is quality football being played outside of tampa bay.

    Good day, sir.

How funny is it that Eagle fan are so ridiculously jealous of the Bucs?

The bucs are far from a one hit wonder (their playoff runs up to 2002 are well documented and I won't repeat them here). If the Bucs are one-hit wonders, are the Eagles NO hit wonders? Always the bridesmaid but never the bride? How many different ways can I compare the CHOKING of the Eagles in big time games? Or rather, how many ways can I describe McNabb's inability to win the big game?

How sad is it that Eagles, despite all their 'superstar' players, can't get the job done? I mean you have the best WR in football, and you still can't close escrow? I mean how many chances do you need in order to win it all? I mean 4 NFC championship games and only one super bowl (a loss at that?)

Is philadelphia ever going to win another championship in ANY sport? It's been how long since the city saw a championship?

Your apparent and obvious jealous, philly fans, is great to hear. It's great to hear that your jealousy of our super bowl win still grates on you so long after it's happened. Was it shutting down the Vet and then shutting you out on the opening day of the Linc that's wearing on you so much? Was Joe J's two (count em, two!) incredible touchdown catches as the D shut you and that choke artist McNabb out?

Until you win a ring, eagle fans, you don't get to call Tampa a one hit wonder. You've lost that right.

Ahh - Stalin and Axtell - birds of a feather with the lowly Bucs. The Bucs are a team that clearly seem destined to be in the middle-bottom of the pack for years to come. The Eagles are clearly destined to be at the top of the pack for years to come. I don't think this is any great prediction that McNabb will have won 2 or 3 Super Bowls by the time he is enshrined at Canton. Barring any major injuries, no question that the Eagles will win the Super Bowl this upcoming season and I believe the Eagles will win it easily - two touchdowns or more - I don't care if it's the Patriots, Steelers, Colts or whatever team we face - it's our time and our destiny to win this Super Bowl.

When will Eagle fans admit that Andy Reid is NOT a winner and McNad is not smart enough to win a ring? You had everything last..a weak
divison, a weak NFC playoff, and no injuries..and you still have no ring. Now it looks like the cowgirls are somwhat better and the NFC
South will be back to its power, led by the bucs! You are going to get punked this year, and it is going to be run watching.
