A question for proof Lincoln people.

While going thru some of my things at my parent's house, I found a couple of proof Lincoln cents that I must have purchased some 20 years ago and did not even remember that I have them anymore.
I do not collect Lincolns and does not really know what they are worth, anyone knows?
And is the grading standard for NGC and PCGS tighter or looser? Should I have them regraded ?
The coins are:
A NGC 1939 cent PF65RD the serial # has few digits than the new holders XXXXXX-XXX
A PCGS 1912 PR63RD in a small holder and Professional Coin Grading Service is written on the back of the holder.

My question was, "Are grading standard tighter now or 20 years ago?"

If that is the case, I should at least try for an upgrade as the value increases quite a bit.

A never ending circle...that depends on what the actual coin grades. If it grades the same as the holder says, then you'd be updating a holder and nothing else. The point is, just because the holder is an old one doesn't mean the coin automatically grades higher than the holder says. Don't fall into that old trap. It really depends on a lot of factors as to whether your coin would upgrade...one being how big the jump in value is from your grade to the next one up. It also depends on whether anything has happened to the coin, its surfaces, or its color since it was holdered. Nobody can make a blanket assumption from a tiny digipic that your coin would definitely upgrade just because of the holder it's in.
