Thames hoard?

What was the Thames hoard.. I cannot find any real references to it (but a few fragments). I found a couple of old coins in a garage sale today (images later) that were labelled on a old 2X2 "halfpenny token, thames hoard, 12 - 1300 AD" They are in fairly good shape... and I am curious.
