A few general comments:
1) Morgans regain top spot
2)The top 10 sets remained the same although there are position changes
3)None of the top 50 experienced a net loss of sets since 7/5/04
4) The number of sets registered in the top 50 appear to be slowing down compared to the previous measurement period. Even though the period between the first and second analysis was 1.5 months longer, we note 1670 new sets registered in the top 50 during period 1 compared to 1094 during period 2.

From 5 to 3, the proof Ikes, have made a tremendous move. And thinking that the #1 reg. set in this series is at one coin away from "PCGS perfect" says much for this series, and the market. It says to me that the growth in this market is NOT entirely registry driven, just driven by collectors who enjoy what they like to collect.
Edited to acknowledge the "other" 70. image

From 5 to 3, the proof Ikes, have made a tremendous move.

Equally impressive (possibly more so) is the Eisenhower Dollars with Varieties, Circulation Strikes (1971-1978) set which climbed from #41 to #28 since last year; not to menton that 2 out of the top 10 registry sets are Ikes!

I knew the Morgans was going to be tough, but not this tough.

Amazing that a new set can climb into the top 50, as is the case with Morgan Dollar Date Set, Circulation Strikes (1878-1921) now ranked #33 (81 new sets registered!). During this 1-year peiod we also saw the Morgan Dollar Mintmark Type Set, Circulation Strikes (1878-1921) set climb from #26 to #18 & the Morgan Dollars with Varieties, Circulation Strikes (1878-1921) set climb 10 spots from #31 to #21 - all very big movers when looking at movement in the top 50.

You guys hit the nail right on.....Ikes and Morgans make the front page this period.

Interesting note: 70% of the top 10 are "dollar" coins: Ikes, Eaglas, Sacs, Morgans, SBA's.

Interesting point. When I grew up I liked pennies because they were the only thing I could afford to sock away, but now one dollar coins are socked away, and probably not considered a lot of money, so there is a choice among collectors, and it seems that "bigger is better". I know when contemplating the American Eagle series, the $100s were where I wanted to start. At least, with my eyesight, I could see the darn things. image

Thanks for the research and confirming that what I like remains unpopular ... a key to future success, particularly with the design type ending on Jeffs.
