Ot: what a day!

I live near 294 in the Chicago area...a helicopter started spinning out of control and crashed just two blocks from my house...they all walked out of it and were taken to the hospital...I hate it when they hover over my house!

    In speaking with officials, I learned that the pilot had been distracted by something shiny on a nearby house roof. Investigators are checking now. Rumor has it that the home's insurer is contacting the homeowner to inform them of their violation of policy requirements and will be cancelling before all the claims are filed.

    It's about 4 blocks from my house ! ..................My insurance guy didn't call..........

    No, that's right. I believe they said it was about TWO blocks away.

    Dan, I changed insurance companies and I purchased Auto and Home...two different experation dates on the policies...So the Home insurance was due on the 23rd...so after he heard of the hellicopter crash I guess he thought he had better bring it over....he is only 3 days overdue...must be due to heat exhaustion!!!!

    Matter of fact I have just implanted Two...big ol American Silver Eagle Proofs on the roof...now if that does not cause a problem, I do not know what will!! I put clear coat on them so that shall never be damaged by Hail, Heat, Snow or Rain.

    I'm surprised everybody on board lived . I'm south of 294 , just off 87th street in Hickory .........

    Maybe that was Mad Marty getting a better look at those ASE's ( checking for milk spots ) , I heard he flies all over the Chicagoland area in a helicopter buying up all the unopened proof sets he can find b4 Russ gets them !

    I'm in the Chicago area, but not close to the crash site. I saw it on the news and can't believe the very small patch of land that he landed the helicopter.

    I bet the pilot could land that helicopter on a dime.image

    I am also in line with the southwest runway to Midway....they come right over my house...Never have liked that flight path....

    Tmot99, sure showed he new what he was doing...lot of people could have been killed...he took it right to the wall.
