Does this really look like a PSA 9?

PSA's centering of Mint 9s (and 10s too!), sometimes makes me wonder if PSA does indeed favor their biggest customers, and maybe "throw them bones" once in a while? Does anyone else think this card should not be a PSA 9?

Look at the L/R centering and I know it is difficult to tell via the scan, but look at the lower-left corner.

  • image Thats bad, centering and it has chipping all along the bottom and around the corners. You are right about the corner too. It could be throwing the submitter a bone or they could being easy on it because it is an OPC.

It is prolly within the tolerance for mint 9.

    Good for you.
  • Someone probably cracked open the slab, substituted a less quality card, resealed the holder, and kept the real psa 9 for resubmission. Hummm?

    A low end 9 - very marginal.

What looks like chipping on the edges may not show so much in real life. Could be the scan.

After studying the label carefully, I have come to the conclusion that the card is indeed a PSA 9. image

  • New to site and this intense scrutiny but one thing is clear....if it says DSL there is suspicion of favoritism. Where there is smoke there is usually fire. I consider most of you equal "experts" relative to the common grader at PSA so what gives. I guess a grade boils down to an "enlightened opinion" rather than fact. Tooooooo many anomalies in scan vs. grade that I've seen... as well as all the threads revolving around this...leads me to basically bag the grading unless I want to sell or get in the Registry Ego Club.

Thanks for saving me a bundle.
