Maybe the ugly autograph on the ugly sticker had something to do with it.

with Knuckles. Why do they give them such a tiny space to do autographs on cards sometimes.

it is a good buy if your happy with it.

    that is all that matters.

to others it may not be.

A friend of mine had one out of Timeless Treasures that he pulled (au/bat/jsy) #/5. He was ecstatic and put it online...got $178 for it. He was then quite disappointed as we figured 250-350. Then I showed him the $125 I got for a Sandy Koufax insert #/25 (No Au or GU) from Donruss Elite the same day to really rub it in. image

Personally, I think those are neat cards and for under $200 I think they are a good value. But unfortunately for me, my football set registries take all my money nowadays.

I agree that the auto takes away from the look of the card and seeing the card is from Donruss, some people don't care about the low numbers seeing they do that a lot with several variations.

I am wondering if the fact that Donruss is going under had anything to do with it.

    PS,

I would also say that it could very well be a sign of the times.
Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.

I think people have figured out that 20 slightly different versions of 1/5 is the same as a single 1/100. I have bought several 1/5 Johnny Bench auto cards with multiple GU bats/jerseys/nosehairs whatever for around $50-$60 each. Bench is one of the more attractive HOF autos, though granted he signs all day and all night for all the card companies. Gotta do something to keep the checks coming in! Pensions for the guys who retired in the early 1980s can't be all that great.

Maybe Willie doesn't sign very often? I wish his auto looked like it spelled Willie Mays instead of "Fam TuP" or whatever that says. Earlier in his career his signature was more legible.
