Recently I visited the Museum of Civilization in Hull (across from Ottawa in Quebec), and inside it there is the Canadian Postal Museum.
It's pretty cool, they have lots of neat stuff, and a section that timelines message/post delivery from ancient times to today.
The best part, obviously, is that the national collection is all on display in large room. They had lots of nice rarities like the BC, Vancouver Island issues and the old Atlantic-Maritime issues. The collection is fairly complete, and you can get a magnifying glass to use to get a closer look.
If you get a chance to go if you are ever in Ottawa, you could spend a great deal of time in that one room alone.
