Do you know much about these?

    I don't.

It's very neat, but I would worry about fakes and fantasy issues with these.

  • One can never tell... I certainly hope it's authentic. The seller had terrific feedback (over 300 and all positive, geralde61) and that is always the first thing I check.

Cool. I have been toying with the idea of getting one of these but I am too afraid of fakes to do it....

The ingot is upside-down, by the way.

Does anyone know about the stamps? The three long ones are all the same and indicate the purity of the silver. Is there anything on the other side? How can it be identified? How do you know what year it is?

The beginning of the Qing is usually dated at 1644 with the fall of Beijing to the Manchus. The Manchus did not use the name "Qing" until 1636.

  • I bow down to your knowledge. I'm truly unworthy, LOL. There is a fellow (the_rare_stuff) who is based in Hong Kong who's feedback is eh? I bought a jade cross from him once. It was jade all right. The S&H is pricey but the stuff was postmarked china when it arrived and they are up-front with the costs and time of delivery.

The guy I bought this ingot from had impeccable feedback, but where he got it I don't know???

My knowledge? I don't know anything about these. The link is very nice, though. It provides a nice intro to sycee with lots of links to nice pics and sources.
  • Thank You, I'll fully explore it after we get back from church.
