for xbox - my first impression is that it looks a lot nicer than last year's version. i've always regarded it as madden jr, but it is finally starting to go its own way.
i'll let you guys know how the season turns out... although i have a feeling gt is going to win the title

The depth and breadth of these games continue to amaze me.
Speaking of madden, did you get a chance to see the high def madden demo they ran at E3? Unreal.
<< <i>played it at the mall a week ago seemed cool. I always buy it but i never play it when nfl comes out, so i backed out this year ill wait till august 8th! for madden crying shame nfl2k6 wont be made by far better then ea! >>
What do you mean?
i always thought nfl2k was a better game then the game madden EAsports puts out.. That better?
edit to add nfl signed an agreement with EA so sega nfl2k cant have the license for the game anymore..
<< <i>I played ncaa 2006 at the ebworld shop at the mall LAST WEEK. i liked it but every year i buy it i dont play it when the nfl game comes out. so i waste 50$ on it for 3 weeks!

Oh heh I completely brainfarted...forgot that NFL2k6 was done by ESPN, and EA did Madden 2k6. Too many to remember!
I bought the ESPN game last year since it was out first and cheap (like $16 at target), played it, thought it was great, then I played Madden 05. I didn't pick up NFL2K5 again. It's a good game, but madden is just so much deeper and more playable (to me).
<< <i>I read that you can start a player as a high school senior, and work him all the way through 4 years of college....and also help in recruiting players once you're in college, to allow your team to get even better. >>
Yeah, and the mini-games/training drills are really good this year. You can play the game for tens of hours without even playing "football".

Unreal indeed. I remember when I first saw PS2 I said, "it can't get any better". I obviously it can and did with the PS3 and Xbox360. I wonder how close they are to pushing the limits where even if they do improve quality the human eye cannot detect it.

I am a big fan of the racing games...and it astounds me what they can do with the PS2 and xbox....real time shading and reflections, etc.
Can only imagine what they'll be able to introduce given the incredible amount of power overhead they'll have in these new consoles.
anyone gonna be playing madden on line or tiger woods?
Starting playing it on "Varsity", which is the 2nd out of 4 difficulties...
GT 49 Auburn 0
I'm good, but maybe it's too easy...
GT 63 UNC 0
Okay it's too easy, so I stepped it up to "All-American", 3rd out of 4 difficulties
GT 22 UCONN 14
Huge step up... I got my work cut out as VT is my next game...

C'mon, dude, your icon is Towlie! You know they're going to have some crazy stuff one day. The games might not even be on TV but in your head.
Seriously, though, I've thought about picking NCAA up for PS2, but I still haven't tired of MLB 2005 and since I've rescinded my boycott of NHL, I know that the college football would soon find itself pretty low on my video game depth chart.
