Are These People New or What?

The people bidding on this item must not shop on ebay? Or, perhaps, they have not heard of Pro before? Would this get to a couple of grand if it were on ebay? The Coach's Corner has an auction closing tonite and there is this "pristine" Teddy that is up to $2315!

Any chances this one is not trimmed?

    Item #2.

I used to like these guys but lately they have been vending for a "pro" and "gem" guy. Very bad idea IMO!

I can't pull up the bidding. And I'd have a hard time spending that kinda dough without figuring out what I was doing. But, the guys on this board are way, way ahead of the learning curve. There's a whole lot of people out there that are going to think, "It's a graded card, Gem-Mint, way below value." I couldn't spend 2K on a card without a divorce following, but I consider myself lucky to have found this forum. I will guess that 99.9% of the bidders out there are dealing with just enough knowledge to get themselves into trouble.

They have a cheap ass program - the only thing that would be different is that if you logged on, you would have the capability of making a bid.

    no? >>

    Yes Steve
But they have taken on some vendors that I think they should have said "no" to IMO.

The item closed for 3 grand with the juice. I hope the person measures the card immediately so they can realize what they just bought!

I spoke with the owner, I believe his name was Scott?, and casually brought up the Gem thing - and now he has Pro also? Not a good idea.

Hopefully, they'll see what this will do to their reputation. Plus, if you are an SCD subscriber and they are SCD advertisers, one can complain to SCD about their practices if you don't get your money back and they don't want SCD on their back I believe - it's all part of the advertiser agreement/covenant.

Coach's has been advertising for years - they do have a 100% money back guarantee with a window on most items. But if you are a good customer - I think there may be more wiggle room.

That card gets the following subgrades:

    Corners -- 10
    Edges -- 10
    Centering -- 9
    Trimming -- 10

Hey, have you heard this joke? It's pretty good.

"Guy has a gem mint 1957 #1 Ted Williams. He decides to send it to PRO for grading." Ba-da-bing! image
