    A little surprised Banner would make a comment like that about a player. Just shows what a totally irritating pr*ck Owens is off the field. I believe there is NO chance of the Eagles releasing Owens. So he has a choice...either play for the Eagles or don't get paid.

    People have to understand though that Owens did help the Eagles get to the Super Bowl. No sense in analysing last season's games at this point with the new season so close by, but no doubt in my mind that he was directly responsible alone for an extra two wins for the Eagles and most probably a third. Fans forget that even though Owens didn't play in the two playoff victories, the Eagles were able to get rested, VERY WELL RESTED, going into those games because of having sewed up home field advantage so early. The Eagles sewed this up so early because of this extra 2 - 3 wins which Owens provided - that was very, very big.

    Could the Eagles get to and win the Super Bowl without Owens? As hungry as I am for a Super Bowl win - I don't want to have to try and find out. I want him here. That being said - I agree with the Eagles stance of not renegotiating a contract.

    I predicted that Owens will be in an Eagles uniform for the first regular season game and I stand by that prediction. Owens loves the game too much - he loves it more than the money but again...he just also loves being an irritating SOB.

    I think anyone who thinks that the TO didn't help the Eagles get to the super bowl is delusional.

    The Eagles are without a doubt much, much better with him.
