    Yeah i read that this morning in the Metro.

    I wonder why arsenic is getting all the blame? Antimony is just as bad.

    Hmmm, I'm not familiar with antimony, and maybe that's the point. They know John Q. Public knows what arsenic is, so they focused on that angle to capture the most attention to the story.

    The arsenic must have been George W. Bush's fault. image

    Perhaps the mad king also chewed on lead paint as a boy?

    Why did you not shake branches with it, you hurt that tree's feelings just now. UIt think's you're not it's friend any more. And don't you dare send any more of your nasty letters in my direction or i shall be forced to do something drastic and paint your front door purple.

    Sincerely

    Isaac Newton.

    Antimony;

    << <i>Antimony and many of its compounds are toxic. Clinically, antimony poisoning is very similar to arsenic poisoning. In small doses, antimony causes headache, dizziness, and depression. Such small doses have in the past been reported in some acidic fruit drinks. The acidic nature of the drink is sufficient to dissolve small amounts of antimony oxide contained in the packaging of the drink. Modern manufacturing methods prevent this occurrence. Larger doses cause violent and frequent vomiting, and will lead to death in few days. >>

    Antimony and Arsenic are two metals that are very similar.

    Tough one that. Arsenic is a metalloid, Antimony is most definately a metal (just not a very metally though). image

    I expect Bismuth is similar being in the same group.
