1965 Topps Mantle Crossover from BGS

Hello everyone:

I know the attached scans are not all that great, but I thought I would post this anyway. Does anyone think this card is worth crossing over to PSA? I think the card would definitley cross over as a (7) or possibly an (8). It is a BGS (6.5), and was graded a couple of years ago when BGS grading standards were extremely tough. Thanks for looking.

I want to say PSA 5 but I'm going to take in account the horrible scan and say it's worth a 6..

  • tough to tell from the scan. the upper right corner looks a little soft, but i think it has a shot at a 7.

  • Possibly a PSA 7 but I think a PSA 8 is wishful thinking. Like Brian stated, the right upper corner looks soft.

Good luck and let us know the results.

I think that BGS's was indeed brutal in their early attempts at grading vintage cards...but, that being said, they were brutal on things like rough cuts and centering...not so much on corners and surface. You might get a 7 if you crossed it over, you might get a 6. I think that an 8 would be out of the question.
