Watch Satin prices start and rise!

You heard it here first. The pops are starting to get bottom heavy now that the best coins have been hurried through the various services and the ms70's will be down-right scarce. I did not make 1 70 from my extensive search and the 69's were far and few between.
Now for the shamless plug: I have satins and several top pop 80's and 90's coins up all pcgs graded. Please feel free to ask questions.

Surely you can't beleive, Mark, that any more than a few % of the 05 mint set coins have been evaluated for submission potential.
Look for prices to fall and pop.'s to rise, say I.

On the satins, I started my thread out very serious about the satin prices going up and at the end, i just let me "Dealer greed" get the best of me. There are an awefull lot of sets being reviewed and ripped up for submission and very soon it will not be feasible to send in the large batches of coins to get mainly ms68 coins with a sprinkling of 9's (if you are lucky). Therefore, I honestly predict a shortage on many of them at some level and the prices to edge upward. Of course I have been wrong before. i did predict no ms70 coins made but I guess it was just from my own stuff.
My 2 cents:
I tend to agree with you on the potential for rising prices of many of the key MS69 coins and low pop MS70's, especially if the MS67 and MS68 prices (and common date MS69's) continue to trend downward on most of the coins, as we have been witnessing. It simply becomes too costly for the average collector to try to "make" these coins himself/herself.
Mark: I not sure exactly how many coins you personally submitted to receive your 0% MS70 rate, but, I have seen close to a 1/4 - 1/3 of 1% "grade through rate" on sizeable "bulk" thus far, so your 0% as compared to .25 to .33 of 1% is roughly "in line" - they are very difficult to obtain at PCGS to this point from what I have seen!

Bottom Line: The 69's are disappearing fast and the 70's are few in #'s.
Some people have made very smart purchases on some coins whether they knew it or not.

Gee, two dealers agreeing that the prices on these coins are going to go up. Who'd have thunk it?

I have 20 very early sets, 19 of which are unopened. Should I hang onto them? Open them?

Any thoughts on exactly which of the 2005 mint set coins will be low in 69s?

I would say that the PCGS Population Report is a pretty close guide to rarity at this point.

Look at the pop report. And also, I dont have it in front of me, but I would say 2005 Kennedy halves will be hard. I opened all of my sets and I could find any that would even 67. Thats P & D!
