What's this?

Anyone seen a holder like this before? It the closest to a PSA flip that I've seen, I think.

  • The design is meant to confuse/mislead people. He/CSA should get a letter from PSA's shysters.
The title is meant to mislead people. He should be tossed by ebay.

This was the very first grading Co.

PSA bought the rights to the patent, i guess for a period of time.

I remember hearing once that what they actually bought was the rights for the particular 1-10 scale, that might explain why SGC used the 1-100 scale instead.

I dont think they are in business anymore, I dont know how good they are/were. I would only buy in person and severely under SMR

Must be before the days of EX-MT too. I have never seen "ENM" on a flip. Even Graded Rookies Company gets that right.

My recollection is the CSA was a "franchise" spin-off of ASA - aka Acu-card/Accugrade founded by Alan Hager who had copyrighted the 10 point system and patented the arrow head holder which is used today. He had since let everything lapse and others can jump in.

Also at the same time Superlative Baseball Card Certification came out with a 100 point grading system I believe. This was all around 1989-90.

You are right Stone, I was thinking of Hager's company.

At one point someone did a count of all grading co's and there were around 40 or so.

    Scary
