Double SMR

This 75 Ryan PSA 9 is almost at double SMR of $600, is this a tough one or does somebody just want it that bad?

    Probably both reasons.

Seems like a low-end 9, not especially well-centered. For that money, you should get a 50/50 example.

I thought Laaryvan posted on these boards recently that he was going to take a break from cards to concentrate on his other obsession, cars. I guess not. Too bad for those other bidders.

I sold a 78' Topps Ryan on ebay 2 years ago in a PSA 9 for $700 to somebody back east.image
  • Dear stingray,

you cant touch a psa 9 ryan for under 750.00 ever...in a 75 topps in fact, most go north of 800.00 all day long..

That remains a tough card still - but they go for around $400 or so today (when you can find one).

I would think with centering like that it would sell for alot less than SMR. I think this has been shilled up. Absolutely overpriced based on the centering.
  • I will also agree that the centering on this card is not the best and somebody who wins it will be buying the "9" holder but 75 Ryan Psa 9 prices have never really dropped. I dont track them that closely but I seem to remember the last few available on ebay all going in the neighborhood of 1500.00. I think this one will too. Maybe Frank Smith could help us out with some past prices.
And somebody mentioned something about being shilled up. Definetely not.Everyone of the bidders are solid buyers.I have sold cards to all of them. The one bidder with the low feedback is a 75 guy that recently had his id changed. That same guy buys alot of Yankee cards as well. Im not aware of exactly how many 9s there are but it is NOT an easy card to get a MINT copy of.It should be interesting what it ends at.

I can't believe the prices they are getting for that card!

I have shown this mini before that I have been considering sending in - it's an 8 - and if the grader got some the nite before? A 9! image

I think it looks better in person also. The white appearance of the bottom border does not show in regular light - it's more of a scanner thing.

    Mike-

I've had a man crush on that card for quite some time. IMO, it is a solid 9 with an outside shot at the $10,000 question. Please put that bad boy in a plastic jail cell.

And please sell it to me for $100 ungraded or your mystery package will not be sent.

    Stone,

That is one sweet Ryan. Why not send it when they had the $5 special. Definately get that thing graded.
