BGS Question

Why are there different styles of flip for BGS cards? I'm not talking about BGS v. BVG...I mean just for the modern BGS stuff. Some are gold, some are silver, some are mostly black and white. What's the deal? Wouldn't that frustrate a set collector that wants a little consistency in the presentation?

  • The colors are based on the grade given

That's lame. I'd much prefer consistency.
  • Well every company has their thang I guess. Color charts and 1st graded blah blah blah! image

I don't mind the different color coding. A matter of personal preference I think. It does add a nice touch to the higher-end cards, however on the flipside, it also has a tendency to make the lesser grades look worse than they actually are.

I used use BVG primarilly, before PSA lowered their prcies and started specials, and I for one liked the different colors.

What did suck, however, was when you got a submission back from them and saw the silver flip only to have a 8.5!

I actually sold a 1/1(at that time) 1979 fb Roger Staubach BVG 9 for $177! I think Beckett used to be a lot harder of graders on their vintage grades than did PSA.
    EAMUS CATULI!
