Why is that? I requested proof and his is what I got:

"The following is in response to your 07/09/2005 request for delivery information on your Signature Confirmation item number 2XXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX The delivery record shows that this item was delivered on 07/09/2005 at 09:12 AM in PHILADELPHIA, PA 19103 to D Jones. There is no delivery signature on file for this item. Thank you for selecting the Postal Service for your mailing needs. If you require additional assistance, please contact your local Post Office or postal representative."

Did you waive the signature part of it? Of course that would be silly because it defeats the whole purpose of the purchase. Did you or the post office clerk remove the "white" portion of the delivery confirmation off? I was told a few times that sometimes when the carrier see the white part still attached to the pink part (the white is the waive the signature even though it's not checked) they just assume that you don't need the signature. Always remove the part small part off is what I was told.

  • Bryan, it does show it was delivered to a D. Jones so there is a record. Maybe the Post Office accepts a rubber stamp with a name in lieu of the signature.

Oops, read the thread (actually skipped a bit) wrong. Thought you
paid for Sign. DC and no signature was recorded. My bad.

Delivery Confirmation---The mail guy probably knows his customer, and just left the package for him without signing for it. It is risky, but sometimes my own mail guy does that for me because i get so much stuff. This might go along with that "You might be a hardcore collector"

when your mailman invites you and your family over for Thanksgiving.
